Purpose and Scope
We are looking for a talented Entry Level Abrasives Applications Engineer to join our innovative team. As a leading brush manufacturer, our goal is to provide the finest quality products and services in the industry. Do you think you have what it takes? Read on to learn more.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for analyzing customer requirements from technical drawings and customer sample parts
- Make recommendations using our products after lab analysis and testing
- Maintain a log and create a report detailing the results to the customer
- Provide technical leadership and training to our customer service department and outside sales rep force
- Some travel for trade shows, customer site visits, and on-site training will be required
- Answering technical support calls, emails, and assisting customer service
- Custom quoting and design
Desired Skills and Experience: What you need for this position:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent with good math skills
- Friendly and outgoing demeanor for dealing with customers
- Efficient and detail oriented
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to communicate well over the phone, in writing, and in person
- Knowledge of machine shop tools and manufacturing processes
- Ability to read technical drawings and interpret requirements
- Experience in metalworking, surface finishing, abrasives, cutting tools, or industrial brushes
- Prior experience in a machine shop, industrial manufacturing or automotive repair facility preferred.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to bend, squat, sit, stand, walk, and handle objects.
Preferred Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of CNC equipment, lathes and other machine shop tools and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings and interpret requirements.
- Experience using Autocad or other similar programs
- Proficient with Excel
What would set you apart:
- Prior technical service or application engineering experience in cutting tools, abrasives, brushes or a similar industry
- BA or better in an engineering or technical discipline
- Knowledge in metallurgy
- Programming skills
Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand, sit, feel, twist, walk, talk, hear, see, drive, bend, drive, crouch, grasp, squeeze, crawl, kneel, squat, push, pull, apply pressure, reach overhead. Ability to focus for extended periods of time. Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs regularly if required, steady hands in order to obtain and meet required quality. Must be able to safely operate all required machinery

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
