Hospitality & Sales Associate

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our family-owned Sonoma Valley winery is searching for an energetic, extroverted, and motivated individual to join our team as a full-time Hospitality and Sales Associate. Annually, our brand produces less than 5,000 cases, with a specialty in Italian-style wines. While we are a small boutique winery, we annually serve more than 25,000 visitors, and are looking for someone who is dedicated to elevating guest experience, passionate and skilled at wine club conversion, and enjoys working with a close-knit team in a fast-paced, stimulating environment.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Hospitality & Sales Associate promotes the Muscardini Cellars brand with dedication and creates authentic guest experiences based on getting to know the customers wine interests and personal palate, treating them like family, as a wine club member, from start to finish. In addition, the Muscardini Cellars Hospitality & Sales Associate shows enthusiasm and ability for sharing duties that encompass all aspects of tasting room operations including opening/closing, sales, conducting private tastings and tours, shipping orders, inventory, maintaining cleanliness, and local outreach.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Passionately drives wine sales and is deeply motivated to sign up new members to build our wine club and meet sales goals and expectations

• Confidently and positively hosts a variety of tasting experiences, ranging from private wine experiences to large tour groups

• Manages multiple groups at a time, keeping accurate track of tastings and anticipating wine needs to craft an experience that is tailored to the individual in terms of interests vetted for

• Thrives in creating opportunities to sell at events offered both on and off the Muscardini Cellars property

• Represents Muscardini Cellars by attending hospitality-related events, as well as at off-site pourings/tastings when requested

• Performs daily opening and closing procedures, and assists with maintaining a clean tasting room environment both inside and outside on the property grounds throughout the day

• Assists with daily wine, food and merchandise restocking as needed
• Participates in monthly, quarterly or year end inventory as requested

• Prepares wine club orders and shipments & processes routine purchase transactions with accuracy
• Expresses flexibility with schedule in the event there are staff meetings, team outings or staff training

• Contributes to, and maintains a positive, team-oriented mindset

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
The ideal Muscardini Cellars Hospitality & Sales Associate candidate should meet the following requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Professional presentation

• Ability and excitement to work in a fast-paced environment while adapting to shifting priorities
• One or more years prior experience in wine, beverage or hospitality industry

• Knowledge of and passion for wine and wine production techniques
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills

• General comfort with using basic POS and reservation software (WineDirect a plus)
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Available to work varied hours, nights, weekends and holidays
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and stand for extended periods of time

*Position is full time with benefits

*Starting pay: $20-$22/hour, dependent upon experience, plus opportunities for tips, commissions, and bonuses

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
