Summary
The account manager will be responsible for building and nurturing multiple account relationships within specific vertical markets (i.e. faith communities, schools or workplaces). The account manager will be responsible for serving as the key contact of a group of newly established or existing strategic level relationships that are assigned to them. The account manager plans and coordinates a diverse set of outreach campaigns, value-added offerings and key events that will strengthen the relationship and achieve internal growth targets. They will be expected to understand the unique needs of each external organization they are assigned, while leading others inside Unbound to ensure value and excellence is delivered in each experience provided. They will collaborate with key channel leaders to schedule and customize offerings and impactful experiences that will compel others to participate in the Unbound community. This role will have or develop expertise in their unique market, awareness of emerging trends, and the capability to proactively address new opportunities and to troubleshoot account specific issues.
The account manager will partner with others inside Unbound to monitor campaign results and account level feedback to continually refine and adjust in-market executions.
The preferred rimary work location for this role will be in Unbounds Kansas City, KS office, with some flexibility to work remotely. Will consider other applicants not located locally.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify top trends and relevant opportunities in the specific vertical markets of the assigned accounts
- Profile top prospects and key client relationships in the target market utilizing a variety of data and research tools
- Draft and activate account specific, multi-year treatment plans that breakthrough, engage and motivate decision makers, influencers, and large audiences who are accessible through the relationship
- Execute scalable and impactful outreach efforts (mail, phone, email, in person meetings) to build a steady pipeline of opportunities, while documenting and monitoring progress in applicable systems and tools
- Build rapport and trust with integrity, transparency and a commitment to excellence
- Utilize a consultative selling approach and appropriately customize offerings.
- Secure and schedule account specific treatments, appeals and value-added events
- Proactively coordinate account specific plans and tactics with channel leaders, outreach team members, marketing, and operations
- Trouble-shoot issues and address opportunities with responsive follow-up and attention to detail
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in sales, marketing, or account development. They must have outstanding relationship building and communication skills and will be expected to travel to utilize phone, digital and face to face meetings with key relationships. They will offer differentiated and relevant value and programming to strategic level relationships, while bringing back market insight and customer feedback to Unbound. Specific qualifications include:
- Bachelors degree; preferably in marketing, communication or public relations;
- 3-8 years of experience in inside sales, customer service, relationship management, or business to business marketing.
- Passion for servant leadership with a focus on social justice, individual empowerment, and community building.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that enable networking and relationship building, troubleshooting issues
- Proven ability to manage time effectively, respond quickly to changing priorities, and adapt within a fast-paced environment.
- Technical aptitude as a user of customer relationship management (CRM) tools, virtual communication and teleconferencing platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Team player who commits to shared goals and inspires others to continually improve processes and skills.
- Ability to travel domestically (10 - 20% of the time) and internationally (up to 2 trips per year).
- Ability to travel and to represent Unbound at regional and national conferences (1-3 per year)
