Field Application Engineer

The Role:

The Field Application Engineer is responsible for helping customers, sales and product teams find solutions for design in projects. Perform a variety of product, technical and engineering functions including pre/post-sales support, research, design and development.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to Transcends internal personnel and end-users.
• Provide technical training on new products and technology to customers and sales personnel (direct, manufacturers representatives, distribution).
• Perform PC setup and PC repair including hardware replacement and software installation.
• Maximize cross-sell opportunities for Transcend products with customers.
• Understand applications, ranging from digital to high power inverters, consumer and embedded markets.
• Resolve technical objections.
• Technical liaison between sales and support team.
• Work closely with Transcend Engineers in Taipei to manage EDI system, remote servers, software applications, and coordinate failure analysis testing.
• Provide feedback to Marketing, Sales, and Engineering about the competitive environment, market acceptance of devices, features for new products/product areas.
• Participate in group meetings and company activities.
• Participate in industry events, tradeshows, and customer events.
• Perform other assignments as required and meet deadlines accordingly.
• Travel will be required.

Qualifications:

• BS in Electrical Engineering or Electronics
• Minimum of 1 year relative computer IT with experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team player in a dynamic, technical sales environment.
