Whitaker Brothers is a medium sized office machines company with approximately 40 employees. The company has been in existence for 75 years now and among the leaders in our industry. We are a family business that takes excellent care of it's employees, and have many tenured sales representatives to show for it. Most of our sales team has been with us for 10 years or more. We very rarely have openings, this is not a churn and burn position.

We are seeking to fill a vacancy on our commercial sales division which sells to Federal Government Contractors, and commercial businesses in Southern California. The territory is protected, and very well established, with over 75% of sales coming from repeat customers.

The primary product lines are high security data destruction equipment for use on media like paper, optical media, hard drives, solid state drives. We are the market leader in several of these categories and the entire metro area knows it. The other product line is paper handling equipment like paper folders, folder-inserters and paper cutters. You will receive full training on our equipment from other sales reps and our manufacturers.

Our satellite office is located in our Escondido Branch Office where you would be expected to commute most days.

There is no cold calling. More customers want to see you than you realistically have time to visit, so you will handle what you can from the office and visit the most important clients in person. Headquarters will supply phone support, vendor support, and management direction.

We are hiring to replace an individual who is retiring after 25 years in this position. You will be trained by them for approximately 12 months before taking over branch responsibilities completely.

Minimum Requirements:
-Seven years of business to business sales experience.
-Mastery of basic computer and typing skills.
-Excellent written communication skills.
-Motivated, detail-oriented, organized.
-Nothing in your history that would prevent you from getting a security clearance.

Compensation:
Compensation will be salary, commission, incentives, benefits, vehicle reimbursement, expenses reimbursement, plus other potential incentive opportunities throughout the year. The person you will eventually replace has averaged $120,000/year over the last three years. A new hire should expect some time spent at a negotiable training salary before taking over for the retiring individual.
