Are you passionate about farming and want to make a difference in your region with technology? AgMonitor is looking for a Sales Manager with a knack for problem solving and deep connections in their farming community to help us grow.
AgMonitor provides a patented farming decision-support data platform that improves crop production efficiency and profit margins across various agricultural applications. We are looking for a highly motivated and solutions-oriented Sales Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales of our Agmonitor software platform to leading farms and food processors within a designated territory. You will work closely with the sales engineers to make our customers successful. In this role, it is critical to listen and explain to potential customers how our decision-support tool across energy, water and crop asserts can meet their specific needs, provide a clear return on investment, and bring the customer onboard. As we are a small and scrappy team, you will also be responsible for a successful handoff to the customer success team.

This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days per week at an Agtech hub (either Fresno or San Mateo) and 3 days in the field or at home.

Responsibilities

Bring in existing relationships and qualify new leads within your assigned territory.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry leaders among customers.
  • Customize and deliver compelling sales presentations that highlight the measurable benefits of Agmonitor.
  • Assist farms and food processors in their digital transformation by identifying how our product suites can solve their problems.
  • Negotiate and close deals effectively.
  • Work with the R&D team and the rest of S&M team to deliver a great user experience.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within the Ag industry.
Exceed established sales targets and user engagement goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in agricultural science, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in agricultural technology sales or a related field.
Proven track record of exceeding sales goals and developing lasting relationships
  • Strong understanding of the agricultural industry and the challenges in rural areas.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with CRM tools including Zoho.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel 25% to 50% of the time.
