Full description of the position

Our client, a prominent provider of Commercial, Group Benefits, and Personal Lines Insurance, is seeking a proficient Commercial Lines Account Manager to join their team. This role is essential for someone with a passion for managing and retaining commercial clients, supporting business development activities, and delivering high service standards.

As a Commercial Lines Account Manager, you will be primarily responsible for maintaining and nurturing relationships with clients, ensuring their ongoing satisfaction and loyalty. This position demands a professional capable of negotiating with multiple insurance companies and MGAs to secure the best terms for clients, and who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.


Job Responsibilities

  • Ongoing management of commercial clients to ensure retention of new and renewal clients.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with producers to support business development activities.
  • Negotiate and obtain quotes, binders, endorsements, etc., from multiple insurance companies and MGAs.
  • Cross-sell insurance products to both existing customers and prospects.
  • Manage an established book of accounts efficiently.
  • Negotiate renewals for existing customers and ensure competitive terms.
  • Gather information and documentation from new and existing clients.
  • Resolve customer issues promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain high service standards in all client interactions.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of recent Commercial Lines Account Management experience with an Independent Agency (non-captive or direct writers).
  • Oregon State Property and Casualty license.
  • Proven ability to follow and improve processes and procedures.
  • Competence in managing complex renewals under tight schedules and deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings in the Portland area.
