The Sales Audit Manager is responsible for managing the sales audit coordinator, sales audit analyst and two staff accountants and their day-to-day responsibilities. The Sales Audit Manager will also oversee the daily posting of sales for the US, Canada and UK and eCommerce as well as the daily/monthly reconciliations of all bank accounts, credit cards and gift card accounts and the monthly close of the month. This role will monitor/approve all Customer Service Credit Requests for ecommerce customers as well as the Registry business.
Principal Functions and Responsibilities:
- Manage daily functions of the Sales Audit and Cash Accounting Teams.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations, including but not limited to credit card and corporate bank accounts.
- Review and approve all ecommerce customer service gestures before they are processed.
- Review and approve all PayPal redemptions for the Registry before they are processed.
- Review the status of chargebacks.
- Liaise with Treasury, Loss Prevention, Store Operations, Customer Service, Accounts Payable and Tax Departments.
- Perform journal entries and oversee month end closing functions.
- Perform month-end functions, including but not limited to closing monthly sales and month end- reporting.
- Provide overall direction and support for team and monitor and assess individual work in accordance with high standards of excellence; provide feedback and coaching; support opportunities for development; complete and deliver performance appraisals; take corrective action when appropriate; and participate in hiring and retention decisions.
- Support Contact Center and stores with customer service research and resolution as the need arises
- Report to IT any issues with the posting of sales.
- Work closely with Loss Prevention whenever requested or when behavior is suspect.
Education
- Bachelors degree (business preferred) and or equivalent experience
- 5 years experience in business including management experience
- 3+ years supervisory experience
- Account reconciliation experience
- Knowledge of retail point of sale
- Supervisory/management skills
- Ability to use and have strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Ability to reconcile accounts, troubleshoot and research effectively
- Organize and express ideas clearly, concisely and accurately, verbally and in writing
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Possess strong sense of urgency (makes it happen)
- Maintain records in a logical, user-friendly system
- Strong detail orientation
- Strong problem solving ability
- Ability to identify what needs to be done and proactively execute
- Ability to be assertive and to work unsupervised
- Ability to communicate promptly and accurately via computer, telephone or similar device with or without assistive technology
- Ability to perform sedentary work
