Description
Wilder Systems designs, manufactures, and installs automated assembly and controls systems for industrial manufacturing applications in the aerospace industry. Our tools are used in direct manufacturing of aerospace structures. We have a dynamic, talented, and collaborative engineering team and want those who are energized by contributing to solutions to solve our customers toughest problems.
Responsibilities
The Applications Engineer is responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation, working as a key technical advisor, and product advocate. The Applications Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the deployment lifecycle.
Design and Product Development
Maintain expert level of product knowledge and application
Identify potential sales opportunities while on-site and present findings to appropriate sales individuals
Assist in the design and development of new products and tools and provide support for various engineering design activities
Perform system set up and programming of demo units for marketing purposes
Provide direct, phone, and email support for new and existing applications, in both critical and non-critical times
Customer Engagement
Responsible for the implementation of company products to customer applications
Travel domestically and internationally to customer sites to perform start-up, installations, integrations, troubleshooting, and training services
Serve as liaison with customers to resolve problems and inquiries
Analyze customer sites and provide product application and knowledge to customers as necessary
Acceptance Testing
Execute test plans to validate and verify engineered solution to internal and customer specifications
Analyze test results to determine system performance and any technical gaps
Commission system at operational sites
Documentation
Develop customer-focused documents covering functionality, usage, calibration, maintenance, user-programming, and troubleshooting of the company product
Provide project reports to internal and external teams and management. Includes design reviews, acceptance test reports, and on site visit reports
General Requirements
Bachelors Degree in an Engineering field
Able to work flexible hours, including overtime when needed
Able to lift 30 lbs to waist height repeatedly in a day
Proficient in Google Suites (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and have a solid understanding of basic electrical and mechanical control systems
Both self-motivated and works well under general supervision
Works well in high pressure situations, during tight deadlines, and in front of customers
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Able to travel occasionally
Required Experience
Working knowledge of Electro-Mechanical systems
Ability to work independently and seek out the necessary resources to complete tasks
Technical skill and hands-on ability
Skilled in the use of all types of hand and power tools
Able to work from blueprints, sketches, and/or verbal instructions
Effective note taking skills
Experience assembling mechanical and electrical components
Acceptance testing and evaluation experience
Preferred Experience
Robotics or Industrial Automation background
Manufacturing knowledge - drilling, welding, pick and place automation, and fastening
Proficient in Solidworks and AutoCAD
Basic PLC programming knowledge
Ability to perform application programming on robot languages
(Fanuc/Yaskawa)
Understanding of network communications
Software upload, download, and revision control
Quality assurance experience
Customer facing experience
Experience managing vendors
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
