As the Academic Investment Specialist, you will have the opportunity to bring your passion for higher education, customer service, and desire to help students achieve their career goals.

The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of the higher education process, have the ability to connect with students to understand their long-term career goals and hold comprehensive knowledge of the appropriate services to be offered to students and their families. The Academic Investment Specialist should be adept at promptly addressing student inquiries into SAC services and will ensure all communications receive a comprehensive response within 24 hours of receipt. As the initial point of contact and first impression of SAC, our Academic Investment Specialist will have the knowledge and skill set to guarantee a first-class experience for every potential student. At SAC, our goal is to always provide a seven-star student support experience from the date of inquiry through to the acceptance into a student's dream school.

Requirements:

  • An in-depth understanding of the college and higher education application process
  • Ability to assess a student inquiry and determine appropriate next engagement steps
  • A clear understanding of how to build a rapport with potential students through effective communication, active listening, and respect
  • Ability to assess potential concerns, answer questions, and make comprehensive financial recommendations based on a thorough understanding of student goals
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with people
  • Capacity for guiding students and parents through challenging financial decisions
  • Ability to guide students through application timelines and provide accurate and comprehensive program knowledge for potential investment
  • Commitment to follow up with prospective students and families conscientiously and thoughtfully
  • Excellent verbal and written communication through proactive outreach, regular updates, and prompt responses
  • Desire to go above and beyond to ensure students are well-informed throughout the investment process
  • Ability to think critically and quickly and utilize all resources effectively
  • Self-motivated and able to work with a team to reach goals together
  • Proven experience with high-stakes sales and services (preferably in higher education)
  • Bachelors degree required (advanced degree preferred)
  • Reliable internet access (fast enough for video conferencing)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate inbound sales inquiries from prospective students and comprehensively answer questions regarding program offerings and services
  • Maintain consistent contact and communication with families interested in learning more about our services via e-mail and telephone
  • Set meetings with potential students or families to answer questions and establish an initial relationship for the foundation for investment
  • Conduct daily consultative meetings with potential students and their families (typically by phone or video) to initiate engagement and provide guidance on educational pursuits
  • Possess a clear understanding of how each service is implemented and carried out by our team of experts over the course of the service term
  • Make customized and student-centric recommendations based on extensive conversations
  • Convert recommendations into individualized program offerings for investment
  • Maintain detailed records of student interactions and continued engagement over time
  • Provide ongoing support post-investment and follow-up to ensure satisfaction and success
  • Manage a continuous pipeline of prospective students who are inquiring about services
  • Provide a high level of professional and personalized service that will consistently lead to word-of-mouth referrals

Reporting

  • Position reports to the Head of Sales

Position Type

  • Full-Time 40 hours: Thursday - Monday weekly
  • Position is considered Exempt under state and federal law pertaining to overtime, meal, and rest periods.

100% remote; some rare travel may be expected.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
