Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Business Development Manager specializing in industrial medical furniture. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with clients, and contributing to the growth of our industrial medical furniture segment. Day-to-day tasks include market research, developing and executing sales strategies, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with the marketing and product development teams to ensure customer needs are met.
Responsibilities
- Fieldwork Commitment: Dedicate significant time to on-the-ground prospecting and customer engagement within the territory. Expect to travel 50 to 75% of the time.
- Prospecting Excellence: Execute targeted outreach campaigns, leveraging CRM tools to track and analyze prospecting efforts.
- Discovery and Solution Design: Conduct in-depth discovery meetings to understand client needs, propose tailored solutions, and establish trust.
- New Customer Acquisition: Aggressively pursue high-potential leads, focusing on strategic target accounts to achieve new business growth.
- Pipeline Development: Build and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities, ensuring steady progression toward closing deals.
- Collaboration: Work closely with account management teams to transition new clients and maximize long-term value.
- Performance Metrics: Maintain focus on results, consistently achieving and surpassing sales goals and benchmarks.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed on market trends and competitor activities to identify areas for strategic growth.
- Activity Reporting: Provide regular updates on progress, including metrics on outreach, pipeline status, and closed deals.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or similar roles
- Strong knowledge of industrial medical furniture market
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Proven success in OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) sales
- Strong communication skills, especially with engineers and buying agents
- Ability to execute successful development strategies
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and focused on results
